This one is grim and it is common. The form posts into nothing, or into an inbox nobody opens. Every enquiry that came through it is gone and there is no way to know how many.
The person who built it has vanished
No logins, no source code, and the domain is in their name. This is the expensive one, and it is the reason I put your domain in your name and hand you the code on every job.
It says something that is no longer true
Old hours, an old price list, a service you stopped offering, a phone number from two carriers ago. Every one of those turns somebody away, quietly.

I build it alongside the old one
Your current site stays up and working the entire time. Nothing goes dark while I am mid job, and you see the new one on a real address before we switch.
We switch in one move
Existing page addresses kept or redirected one to one so your search results survive. Domain stays in your name. Email is untouched. Then I walk you through it.

My website is old. Is it cheaper to fix it or start again?
Almost always cheaper to rebuild, and I will tell you honestly which yours is. Patching a site built on an old theme or a builder means working inside somebody else's mess and charging you for the time. Starting clean is usually faster, and having an existing site makes it cheaper, not dearer, because the words and photos already exist somewhere.
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Not if it is done properly. The addresses of your existing pages are kept, or redirected one to one where they have to change, and the site goes live in one move rather than sitting half finished. Where rankings do move it is usually upward, because the new site loads faster and works on a phone.
Can I keep my domain and my email?
Yes, and nothing goes down while it happens. Your domain stays in your name, pointed at the new site when it is ready. Email is separate from your website and is not touched, which is the bit people worry about most and the bit that is actually safest.
