Brainerd Web DesignBy Sean Swanson

Free homepage

I will build your homepage first, and you pay nothing for it.

Not a mockup, not a slide, not a stock template with your name dropped in. A real homepage for your business, on a real address, that you can open on your own phone and show your wife.

Or text me: (218) 818-1023. Tell me the business name and what you do.

What you actually get

A finished homepage, not a picture of one.

The same standard as anything else I build, because it is going in my portfolio either way.

Designed for your business

Your trade, your words, your photos, your town. Not a template with the colours changed. If you have no photos I will tell you honestly whether that is a problem yet.

Live on a real address

A working link you can send to anybody. Loads in about a second, works properly on a phone, and does not have somebody else's logo in the corner.

Yours to keep

If you walk away, the link stays up and you keep it. No card was taken, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing that quietly starts billing in thirty days.

Why I do this

Because showing you beats pitching you.

Most people hate being sold to, and I am not much good at it anyway. A homepage you can look at on your own phone answers the question a sales call is trying to answer, and it answers it more honestly than I could over the phone.

The other half is simpler. If the homepage is not good enough to make you want the rest of the site, then I have not earned the job. Finding that out costs me a day of work. Finding it out after you have paid costs us both a great deal more.

What I get is a piece of work I am allowed to show other people, and sometimes a client. That is the entire trade and there is nothing else attached to it.

Why only five at a time

Five is not a scarcity trick. I design and code every one of these myself, around the work I am already doing for people who are paying me, and five is honestly what fits. The five slots are shared across all of my sites, not five here and five on swansonx.com. When they are finished I open it up again, and if you write while I am full I will tell you that instead of quietly adding you to a list.

Then what

If you like it, here is exactly what happens next.

You look at it and say yes or no

No meeting, no follow up sequence, no call to book. A link arrives, you look at it, and you tell me either way. “No thanks” is a complete answer and it does not get a rebuttal.

The homepage counts toward the build

You are not paying twice for the same work. A one page site is $595 and a custom site with a page per service starts at $1,495, with the homepage already done and inside that number.

Your domain goes in your name

About $15 a year, paid by you, registered to you. Then the site goes live on it, and you get the source code. The full prices are here and they do not move afterwards.

Questions

The things people check first.

Is the free homepage really free?

Yes. No card, no contract, nothing to cancel and no obligation to buy anything afterwards. I design and build a real homepage for your business and put it on a live address you can open on your phone. If you want the rest of the site it is finished at the normal price and the homepage counts toward it. If you do not, you keep the link.

What is the catch?

There is not one, but here is the reasoning so it does not feel like there is. Most people hate being sold to and I am not good at it. A homepage you can look at answers the question a sales call is trying to answer, and answers it more honestly. If it is not good enough to make you want the rest, I have not earned the job, and finding that out costs me a day instead of costing you money.

Why only five at a time?

Because I build every one myself around work I am already being paid for, and five is honestly what fits. The five slots are shared across all my sites, not five here and five somewhere else, so if they are full when you write I will tell you straight away rather than adding you to a list you never hear about again.

What do you need from me?

Your business name, what you do, and whatever words and photos you already have, even if that is a Facebook page and three pictures on your phone. If you have nothing, tell me about the business in a couple of sentences and I will write the first draft myself.

Start yours

Four boxes. That is the whole thing.

No card, no call to book, no newsletter. If a slot is open you will have a homepage to look at. If it is not, I will say so today.

No newsletter, no follow up sequence, no selling your details on. One reply from me.

Nothing to lose here, genuinely.

Tell me the business name and what you do. If a slot is open you will have a homepage to look at, and if it is not I will say so today rather than leaving you wondering.
