Brainerd Web DesignBy Sean Swanson

New business package

Opening a business in Brainerd? Start at $699.

You have a name, maybe a logo, and a list of things that all need doing at once. This is the version that gets the website off that list without spending money you have not made yet.

What you get

One fixed number, and four things in it.

01

A one page website

Built by hand, live on your own domain, registered in your name. Who you are, what you do, where you are, and a contact form wired to your inbox so enquiries actually arrive.

02

A business card

Designed to match the site and handed over as print ready files you own. Take them to any printer you like. Most new businesses need cards before they need a fifth web page.

03

A logo, if you need one

Same price. If you already have one you like, we use it and nothing changes. If you have a placeholder you made in Canva at midnight, say so and I will draw you something better.

04

Three months of care

Hosting, domain, the security certificate, backups, monitoring and small edits, included for the first three months. After that it is $49 a month and you can cancel any month you like.

Live in about two weeks, and you get the number in writing before anything starts.

Who this is for

Businesses under a year old. That is the whole reason it costs this.

You are early, the budget is thin, and the job right now is existing properly rather than perfectly. A website that proves you are real beats a website that impresses other web designers.

This is you if…

You opened in the last twelve months, or you are opening soon. You have a name and an idea of what you sell. People are starting to ask where they can look you up and you do not have an answer yet.

Been trading a while? This is not for you.

I will say that out loud rather than take the money. You know what your customers ask, which means a page per service is worth building, and that is the custom site from $1,495. Selling you the cheap one would waste the thing you actually have, which is real knowledge of your own business.

Why one page

Build the rest once you know what to put on it.

Eight pages, six of them thin

It is the most common mistake a new business website makes. Google has nothing to rank and a visitor has nothing to read. One page that is actually finished does more than six that are not.

Run it by hand for a while

Answer the phone, take the bookings in a notebook, find out what people actually ask you. Six months of that is worth more than any planning document.

Then add the right pages

Built around real answers rather than guesses. And if it turns into booking systems or customer records later, I build those too, on swansonx.com.

Questions

What people ask before they book this.

How new does my business have to be?

Under a year old, or not trading yet. That is the whole reason it costs what it does. If you have been going longer than that, the custom site from $1,495 is the honest recommendation and I will tell you so rather than sell you this.

What is included for $699?

A one page website with a contact form wired to your inbox, a business card designed and handed over as print ready files, a logo if you do not have one, and three months of the care plan. After three months the care plan is $49 a month and you can cancel any month.

Why only one page?

Because you do not know yet what your customers actually ask. New businesses build eight pages and leave six of them thin. One page that says what you do, where you are and how to reach you will outperform a half empty site, and the pages you add later will be the right ones.

Do I own it?

Yes. The domain is registered in your name from the start, and you get the source code. If you ever want to take it to another web developer you can, and I will help you move it.

Can I start with the free homepage instead?

Yes, and plenty of people do. I build your homepage for nothing, you look at it, and then you decide. The free homepage counts toward this package, so you are not paying twice for the same work. Five slots at a time across all my sites.

Tell me what you are opening.

What the business is, when you open, and whether you have a logo yet. You get a reply within 24 hours with a fixed price, whether or not you end up hiring me.
