Brainerd Web DesignBy Sean Swanson

Web design in Little Falls, MN

Web design for Little Falls businesses, without the drive to St. Cloud.

Little Falls is its own market. It is the county seat, it has Camp Ripley on its doorstep, a working downtown on the river and a Highway 10 corridor that most of central Minnesota drives through. It is not the lakes area and it is not St. Cloud, and a website that treats it as either one misses. I am half an hour up the road in Brainerd, I build sites at one fixed price, and I write them for the town you are actually in.

The Little Falls problem

Three Little Falls, and Google has to know which one you mean.

There is a Little Falls in New York and one in New Jersey, both bigger than ours. A site that just says “Little Falls” ranks in the wrong state.

Minnesota, Morrison County, on the page

Your titles, your contact page and the structured data behind the site all say Little Falls, Minnesota, and name the county and the neighbouring towns you serve. That is what tells Google which Little Falls you are, and it is the single most common thing missing from the local sites I get sent.

Camp Ripley is a customer base

Thousands of Guard members and their families rotate through the base every year, and most of them have never been to town before. They search for a place to eat, a barber, an oil change, a room for a spouse visiting, and they search from a phone with a Cities area code. A site that says where you are relative to the base and what your hours are on a Sunday gets that business.

Highway 10 traffic never sees downtown

Most of the cars on 10 are going somewhere else. The ones that turn in do it because they searched first. A restaurant or shop on First Street has to be found from the highway on a phone, which is a map listing and a fast site, not a sign.

Manufacturing and trades sell beyond the town

Little Falls has more shops that build and fix things than most towns its size, and their customers are often a county or three away. A site for a fabricator, a machine shop or a specialty contractor is not a local brochure. It is the thing a purchasing manager in Alexandria reads before deciding whether to call. It needs to show the work and say the capabilities plainly.

Who this is for

The businesses that run Little Falls.

Trades and contractors. Roofers, builders, plumbers, electricians, excavation, ag buildings, the outfits working from Little Falls out to Pierz, Royalton, Randall and Motley. A page per service with the towns you cover named on it is how a homeowner in Royalton finds a Little Falls roofer instead of a St. Cloud one. Ridge North Roofing is the case study to read.

Manufacturers, fabricators and the shops on the industrial side of town. Capabilities, materials, tolerances, lead times, and photos of real parts and real equipment. No stock photos of sparks. The site is read by a buyer who already knows what they need and wants to know if you can do it.

Downtown restaurants, bars, coffee and shops. The riverfront and First Street are the reason people walk around. Menu readable on a phone, hours that are correct, a map pin in the right spot. If you do a big weekend for the arts and crafts fair in September, the site should say so and say it before the fair, not after.

Ag, feed, equipment and the businesses that serve the farms. Morrison County is farm country before it is anything else. Your customers know exactly what they want and they want the phone number, the hours and whether you have it in stock. A simple site that answers those three things beats an elaborate one that does not.

Clinics, dentists, salons, gyms and anything appointment based. The site's job is to get somebody booked without a phone tag loop. Halcyon Yoga shows the shape of that for a schedule based business.

Something brand new. If you are opening in Little Falls and are under a year old, the $699 new business package is one page, a logo if you need one, and the Google listing, live in about a week.

Questions

What Little Falls businesses ask.

Why not hire somebody in St. Cloud?

You can, and some of them are good. The difference is that I am a one person shop with a fixed price in writing, I give you the source code at the end, and Little Falls is a half hour drive for me rather than a client on a list. If a St. Cloud agency quotes you less than I do, take it, and I will tell you that to your face.

Should my site mention Brainerd at all?

Only if you actually work there. Little Falls is its own search market, and a Little Falls site stuffed with Brainerd and lakes area keywords looks like it is trying to be somewhere it is not. Say Little Falls, say Morrison County, name the towns you genuinely serve, and let the Brainerd businesses fight over Brainerd.

Do you come to Little Falls?

Yes. It is thirty minutes down 371 and 10, and the first conversation is better over a coffee downtown than on a video call. After that the work runs over email and phone and you never have to drive anywhere.

Little Falls business? Tell me what you do.

A fixed price within 24 hours, free whether or not you hire me. Or I build the homepage first and you decide after you have seen it.
